Instituto Igarapé – Territorial and Legal Security Assessment

Project Proposal:

Amazon Investor Coalition supports Instituto Igarapé – Territorial and Legal Security Assessment Assessment of Territorial and Regulatory Security Risks in the Amazon – Over a 10-month period, Igarapé developed Under the Radar, a study that mapped and inventory the main territorial and regulatory risks faced by NGOs, government agencies, and the private sector in the Amazon. The research will identify structural drivers of insecurity, assess existing mitigation strategies, and propose new interventions to address governance gaps. Mitigation measures will be categorized with the aim of providing guidance and insights for investors seeking to strengthen legal security in the Amazon and generate systemic impact.

Impact Measurement:

Production of an analytical and publicly accessible report for the AIC, with recommendations for investors, philanthropists, and civil society actors engaged in the green economy and nature-based solutions. The report is scheduled for publication in the second half of 2025, with a planned launch during COP30.
