Agrosolidaria Florencia
Project Proposal:
AIC supports the Agrosolidaria Florencia initiative - grassroots association of smallholder producers in the Colombian Amazon dedicated to advancing agroecology, solidarity economy principles, and sustainable rural livelihoods. Agrosolidaria Florencia works with farming families to strengthen associative models, improve production practices, and facilitate access to local and regional markets. Through agroforestry systems—particularly cacao, coffee, and diversified crops—the organization promotes land-use approaches that conserve forest ecosystems while generating stable income. Its work supports territorial resilience, reduces pressure on deforestation, and empowers communities through collective governance and inclusive economic participation.centers on the Copoazú Agroindustrial Plant, where raw materials from community-led agroforestry systems are processed into high-value products, such as Copoazú Butter, Sacha Inchi Oil, and fruit-based foods. The project promotes “Food and Cosmetological Forests,” integrating Amazonian species like cacay, copoazú, milpes, açaí, and cacao. Additionally, Agrosolidaria Florencia leads a large-scale reforestation campaign, aiming to plant over 100,000 native trees and restore 88 hectares of degraded land.
Impact Measurement:
Indicators include the number of families, women, and youth involved, hectares of forest preserved and restored, institutional partnerships established, purchase volumes, increased family income, and annual sales growth. The cooperative also tracks the number of Amazonian species cultivated and the economic benefits for vulnerable populations.
