Instituto Floresta Tropical
Project Proposal:
IFT is developing a long-term multidisciplinary training program (10-15 years) to expand technical, managerial, and commercial capacities for sustainable forest use. The program will address labor shortages in key areas such as community-based forest management, restoration, traceability, and environmental monitoring. Through a network of pilot forest areas, training centers, and digital learning tools, IFT aims to equip professionals with the skills needed to scale sustainable forestry and strengthen conservation efforts.
Impact Measurement:
IFT monitors the number of trained professionals, forest-based businesses supported, hectares of sustainably managed forests, and the number of community initiatives adopting best practices. Additional indicators include the establishment of demonstration sites and the effectiveness of training materials in improving forest governance.
